Revs. Rob & Millie Radosti
God eternally exists as Father, Son & Holy Spirit as revealed in the Holy Scriptures, of the same Being and nature.
Jesus Christ pre-existed as the Word, God the Son, with the Father and the Spirit. Fully God and fully man, He came to earth in covenant with the Father and was born of a virgin. He was crucified for us under Pontius Pilate, and suffered and was buried; And He rose on the third day raising us with Him, according to the Scriptures. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father having reconciled all flesh to Himself; And He will come again with glory to judge the living and dead. His Kingdom shall have no end.
The Holy Scriptures were written over the course of more than 5,000 years under inspiration of the Holy Spirit and are authoritative in all matters of faith and practice. They are a record of the relationship between God and man since time began, and should always be studied and understood through the lens of their main point–Jesus Christ.
The Holy Spirit is the Comforter, the Parakletos. The Spirit comes to quicken us, bear witness with us that we are indeed children of God, and emboldens us to live above reproach . The Spirit brings love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, humility, and self-control into our lives. The Spirit also gives us spiritual gifts including speaking in tongues, prophesying, and healing among others as written in Scripture. Ample time should be given for the Holy Spirit to move upon God's people, and all plans during worship gatherings should be subject to change at the leading of the Spirit.
Holy Matrimony is a sacrament established and authorized by God in Scripture as the union of one man and one woman. The relationship of husband and wife as family reflects the covenanting self-giving love between Christ and His Bride, the Church. We believe that in God's infinite goodness, He designed human sexuality for us to tangibly experience the mystery of union (two becoming one flesh), the joy of intimacy, and to multiply His image on the earth.
In receiving Holy Communion and feasting on Christ's body and blood, we are by faith sitting with the Old Testament saints as they receive the Passover, as well as sitting with the New Testament disciples around the covenant table. It's almost as if Holy Communion mystically causes us to time travel for a moment in the glory of God, who fills all things. In the West, communion can be seen more as an observation, but we believe it was intended by God to be more of a participation. In Luke 22, Jesus gives thanks and says “this do in remembrance of me.” This Greek word is literally a recollection of the past that enlivens and empowers the present. These two things, remembrance and thanksgiving, were the holistic approach to spirituality by the early Christians that celebrated God‘s presence in, with, and among them.
Jesus has reconciled the world to Himself in His act of obedience (crucifixion, resurrection) leaving each individual person with full access to God and the opportunity to be reconciled in their own hearts and minds by having faith in Christ. Believers in Christ participate in God's Life both here and in the ages to come, while those who refuse to believe are subject to eternal judgment as Scripture states. Every person who has ever lived will receive a bodily resurrection to face Jesus. It is fully God's desire that none should perish, as stated in Scripture.
Jesus established His Ekklesia (Greek word for "assembly") to be a thriving, unified body of believers that He Himself is the Head of. Believers should regularly gather together to celebrate our Lord Jesus, worship, study the scriptures, receive the sacraments, exercise the gifts of the Holy Spirit, and pray for each other. We recognize that the global Body of Christ has many expressions, forms of worship, and varying doctrinal interpretations. Believers should remain in relationship except when someone who calls themselves a brother or sister is conducting themselves or teaching in a continued fashion and without repentance that is contrary to Scripture.
A creed is a short statement of faith that summarizes biblical teaching, clarifies doctrine, and helps the church distinguish truth from heresy. It comes from the Latin word credo. We believe the creeds should be part of our worship, because from the earliest times, they have played a significant role in Christian worship for affirming faith. When we remember and confess what we believe together, we are reminded that we belong to the same massive story! These words remind us that our individual story belongs to the larger story of the people of God, which takes us back to the people of Israel to the first disciples to the men and women at Pentecost, and to the early church, for whom the creeds were originally written to remind us that we share a common faith, and a common story.
We believe in one God,
the Father almighty,
maker of heaven and earth,
of all things visible and invisible.
And in one Lord Jesus Christ,
the only Son of God,
begotten from the Father before all ages,
God from God,
Light from Light,
true God from true God,
begotten, not made;
of the same essence as the Father.
Through him all things were made.
For us and for our salvation
he came down from heaven;
he became incarnate by the Holy Spirit and the virgin Mary,
and was made human.
He was crucified for us under Pontius Pilate;
he suffered and was buried.
The third day he rose again, according to the Scriptures.
He ascended to heaven
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again with glory
to judge the living and the dead.
His kingdom will never end.
And we believe in the Holy Spirit,
the Lord, the giver of life.
He proceeds from the Father and the Son,
and with the Father and the Son is worshiped and glorified.
He spoke through the prophets.
We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic church.
We affirm one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.
We look forward to the resurrection of the dead,
and to life in the world to come. Amen.
